Title: Licensed Field Service Technician – Fire Division
Supervisor: Fire Division Manager
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm – flex scheduling is required to accommodate client service schedules.
Some overtime or weekend work as authorized by Manager
General Position Requirements: Field Service Technicians are required to acquire and to maintain certifications and/or licenses as required performing maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and pre-engineered suppression systems. They are required to know the current fire code for the jurisdictions they are working in and be comfortable with NFPA 10, 17, 17A, 96 standards. Service technicians work closely with Metro’s clients and become knowledgeable about the buildings they are helping to protect. They will become proficient in the scheduling, invoicing and reporting processes used by Metro. Field service personnel are required to demonstrate a solid work ethic and the discipline to set priorities and execute assignments in an efficient manner. He must be confident in his communication with clients and demonstrate strong problem solving skills.
Job Specific Tasks:
Perform required maintenance/test/repair of portable fire extinguishers at the client’s location or at Metro’s shop as assigned.
Perform required maintenance/test/repair of fixed fire suppression systems as assigned.
Complete accurate service records for equipment serviced.
Perform survey and quote to existing and potential customers for upgrades to equipment to comply with changes in the fire codes.
Solicit new customers for recurring services.
Conduct training on fire equipment.
Work cooperatively with the authorities having jurisdiction on the client’s behalf.
Represent Metro at professional meetings when requested.
Maintain assigned company vehicle and equipment.
Perform other tasks as requested by Division Manager or General Manager.
