  • ABC

    ABC is a dry chemical that is very effective on fires involving ordinary combustible materials such as wood, paper, cotton, rubber, many types of plastics as well as fires involving flammable liquids and energized electrical equipment. Because of its versatility, ABC is most suitable for use on combination fires involving Class A, B or C type fires together.

  • BC

    BC is a dry chemical that is suitable for use on fires involving flammable liquid fires (Class B) including cooking oils, grease and energized electrical equipment (Class C).

  • Purple K

    Purple K is commonly used in high-risk areas such as: oil refineries, airport ramps, service stations, military facilities, naval warships, power plants, and other places where flammable liquids are handled. It is the most effective dry chemical in fighting class B (flammable liquid) or Class C (electrical) fires. Purple-K powder has an acrid taste and odor, is free-flowing, floating on most liquids, non-abrasive, does not wet with water and is compatible with most foam concentrates. It has violet color, to distinguish it from other dry agents. Purple-K is normally non-toxic, but ingestion of large amount can cause alkalosis. In high temperatures it decomposes to carbon dioxide and potassium oxide, which is toxic and highly corrosive.

  • CO2

    C02 fire extinguishers use carbon dioxide that is discharged as a white cloud of “snow” which smothers class B and class C fires by eliminating oxygen. It is effective for Class B flammable liquids and is electrically non-conductive. Carbon Dioxide is a clean, non-contaminating, odorless gas.
    Recommended for: Indoor use in furnace rooms, printing presses, pump rooms, electrical power panels, and laboratories where winds and drafts do not affect discharge.

    Class D fire extinguishers contains a special blended Sodium Chloride based dry powder extinguishing agent. Heat from the fire causes it to cake and form a crust excluding air and dissipating heat from burning metal.
